Dr. G. Natchiar, Director Emeritus, AECS, received the prestigious Padma Shree Award from the honourable President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at the second Civil Investiture Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Delhi.
Dr. R. Ramakrishnan was honoured with the TNOA Lifetime Achievement Award at the 71st Annual conference of Tamil Nadu Ophthalmic Association (TNOA).
Dr. N. Venkatesh Prajna was honoured with the Ronald G. Michels, MD Lectureship Award during his visit as an invited guest speaker at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, USA. He delivered the prestigious Ronald G. Michels Lectureship on ‘Eminence vs Evidence’.
Thulasiraj Ravilla, Director-Operations, AECS, was honoured with the prestigious Guru Dronacharya Award 2023 at the 18th edition of Vision 2020: The Right to Sight-INDIA national conference. This award recognises his excellence in the field of community eye care and his commitment to mentoring eye care institutions across a comprehensive set of systems over several years.
Dr. R. Venkatesh, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Aravind-Pondicherry, was honoured with the Dr. GV Lifetime Achievement Award by the Akila India Samuga Nala Amaippu, Pondicherry.
Dr. N. Venkatesh Prajna, Chief, Cornea & Refractive Surgery Services, Aravind-Madurai, was honoured with the Asia Cornea Foundation Saiichi Mishima Award 2024, in recognition of his lifelong contribution and achievements in Corneal Research work performed in Asia, at the 9th Asia Cornea Society Biennial Scientific Meeting (ACS 2024).
Dr. R. Kim, CMO, Aravind-Madurai & Director - Auroitech, was honoured with the Global Innovator Award 2024, at the Global Digital Health summit 2024, held at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai. Title: AI first healthcare: Healthcare in the age of Generative AI
Dr. Usha Kim, Chief, Orbit & Oculoplasty Services, Aravind-Madurai, was honoured with the Dr. M.S. Boparai Oration Award 2024 at the 16th Annual Conference of Ocular Trauma Society of India (Kashi Opthal TRAUMACON) in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the field of ocular trauma, during the OTSI Annual Conference.
Dr. R. Ramakrishnan, Advisor, Aravind-Tirunelveli was honoured with the Dr. Ranjan Akhoury Oration Award at the Annual meeting of Patna Ophthalmic Society (POSCON).
Dr. S.R. Rathinam, Chief, Uvea Services, Aravind-Madurai, received the Dr. KGR Nair Oration Award at Reflection 2024, the annual conference of Trivandrum Ophthalmic club. Title: My journey in uveitis
Dr. P. Sundaresan, Senior Scientist, Molecular Genetics, Aravind Medical Research Foundation (AMRF) was appointed as an ICMR-Emeritus Scientist by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for a term of three years, to continue his biomedical research at AMRF, focusing on the project entitled, Molecular genetics in ocular diseases: Pathways to personalised medicine, with special emphasis on Leber’s Congenital Amaurosis (LCA) and Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy (LHON).

Dr. Haripriya Aravind, Chief, Cataract Services, Aravind – Chennai, was felicitated by Shri. R.N. Ravi, Governor of Tamil Nadu, with a citation and a shawl, for her distinguished services in Ophthalmology on the eve of International Women’s Day at Raj Bhavan, Chennai.
