To revitalise its global presence while meeting local demands, Aurolab has adopted various new initiatives, upgraded its product technologies, and enhanced production efficiency, all aligning with Aravind’s mission of universal eye care coverage. The launch of new products, construction of an eye drops facility and pharmaceutical building, along with its expansion into the Andhra Pradesh Medtech Zone, and its ongoing initiatives for continuous improvement through TPM, all reflect its commitment to efficiency, quality and safety

New Product

Unique among our Aurolab products is the AADI, a non-valved glaucoma drainage device that can benefit glaucoma patients during the last phase of their treatment. The AADI manufactured by Aurolab is of high quality and available at an affordable price. This socially impactful product was initially launched as AADI 350. Now, the AADI 250, with a new design, has come into practical use. This new AADI 250 was launched by Aurolab at the 24th GSI Conference on 27th September 2024, under the of India’s leading medical technology and innovation hubs.

New Initiatives and Developments

Aurolab continues to improve production efficiency and quality through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Regular Kaizen competitions, started in August 2022 and held every two months, engage all staff and foster a culture of continuous improvement, with annual recognition for outstanding ideas. November 2024 was observed as Quality Month, highlighting the organisation’s focus on quality. To strengthen workforce skills, the Skill Development Centre (SDC) was inaugurated on 10th July 2024 by Dhivya Ramasamy, Executive Director, LAICO. With specialised training for Blade and Suture divisions, the SDC enhances technical knowledge, precision, and productivity.

Human Resource Development

Aurolab continues to support employee growth and well-being through key initiatives. In collaboration with Thiagarajar School of Management, a Business Communication training was conducted from November 2023 to January 2024, benefiting around 30 employees. Certificates were awarded in February 2024. To strengthen workplace health, a fully equipped Occupational Health Centre and on-site ambulance were introduced in September 2024. Aurolab also observed the 54th National Safety Week in March 2025 with a safety flag hoisting, employee pledge, competitions, and training sessions to promote safety awareness.
